Well said. And as we get older and the mylons slipp, falling over the boots, or maybe it's the socks that have lost their oomph, we hope it won't matter.

My daughter in law wore white running shoes with white tulle as shoelaces as she stood in the recieving line at their wedding reception--they didn't show. I thought she was nuts but now I see she was smart. Very smart.

Lately I'm having trouble remembering that I'm wearing the boots to get them dirty! I need to stop pussy-footing around in my combat boots and wade on in!

Myself and my three bridesmaids all wore gold thongs (flip-flops). It was the footwear we were most comfortable in and no one was going to see them anyway. We picked them up at K-mart $20 a pair on a day that was buy one get one half off... BARGAIN! We all got so much wear our of them for years after our wedding. I did consider a good pair of Doc Martin boots though :)
