My Girls

luncheon3
7 of 8 had to stay home with the boys.

I'm sure I'll hear about it later.

But the 'big' girls and I got to have a Girls Day and we had us some fun.

We attended our church's annual women's luncheon Saturday and it was a wonderful celebration of sisterhood. The food was delicious, the flowers gorgeous and the estrogen levels high.

2 & 6 of 8 and Miss LP danced to 'Singin' in the Rain' for us and I was honored to speak. And as I stood from the stage and looked into the faces of so many amazing women, I was struck again with this truth:

Though I don't have a biological sisters, I have amazing sisters in the Spirit.

I'd about given up on the whole girl thing. I was just not one of the little girls who could figure out 3rd grade girls playground politics and intrigue. I couldn't grasp the high school drama and was at an utter loss when it came to sorority social stratagems.

But the last couple of decades of my life have been blessed with women of the Word, women who care and love and sacrifice and listen and give and study. It's built me up, been a blessing, shown me the power of an orchestra of united females.

I've been given sisters.

And it's a gorgeous harvest of the heart.
