It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year....

DSC06840
So I'm a little kid birthday party weary.

It's just that after doing many years of Chuck-Bleh-Cheese Gouging Extravaganzas and full-out-every-thing-Pocahontas-Snow White-name-your-Disney-princess soirees, I just sorta kinda petered out.

I choose to believe it's not a bad thing.

So when schedules collided and it turned out that 6 of 8 would be celebrating her birthday while we were on the road for 2 of 8's Nationals competition, we engaged in a little 'party where you're temporarily planted' kind of a thing.

Hence, the Sam Moon 6 year old birthday bash.

That's my precious and brave friend CB who allowed us to stay with her...and partially vomit on her carpet....
2, 4 and 6 of 8 were raring to go, to hike the aisles of purses and such, to hunt for hidden treasure among the imports.

6 of 8 was a bit overwhelmed when we entered the dazzling confines of the Sam Moon warehouse (a huge superstore of all things accessories). But she quickly overcame her bedazzled bewilderment and began piling all sorts of vibrant items in her basket.

And she came home with a haul...new duffel bag, new train cases, new purse and a couple of necklaces for good measure. She was quite delighted with her finds.

4 of 8 also did a little shopping with some money that was burning a hole in her pocket.

And then what's a techie family to do when they have to spend a birthday separated by a stretch of highway? Well, they Skype, of course!

It pretty much beat a ChuckE Cheese bash...any day.

I'd call that a beaut birthday bash! 6 of 8 seems to like it judging by that huge grin! and with all that new storage space you'll never find anything of hers sitting out of place I am sure!

"You've Got To Go with What You've Got." That's a quote from one of my kids' movies, but I can't remember which one. It'll come to me in the middle of the night- I'm sure. :)

What a fun shopping trip.

Love the 5+1 on the cupcake!

Have a great day!

Looks like a great time. Whenever we go to that area, most of the moms make a trek to Sam Moon. I have yet to have that experience.

I saw the numbers on the cupcake and was trying to figure out why it said 15 then I figured out that they don't make plus signs in candle form. :-)

Thanks for sharing.

J,
I feel you on the birthday parties! I did a round of the whole invite all your friends and put on the show last year with everybody, hoping to get it out of their system, so we could go back to our on the fly family only kinda thing. T is going to be touring near a certain theme park this October, so E will get to party it up there. Both ways can be fun, but, I think our sweetest birthday memories have happened on the road :)

I have never heard of Sam Moon! I don't think they're in our area. Thank God, because I have a feeling we'd live there.

Happy birthday and all that but the most important part of your story is the revelation of Sam Moon. How could I never have heard of this place? I'm off to find out if there's one near me.

Chuck-bleh-Cheese...funny. One of my youngest got confused a few years ago and called Chuck-A-Jesus. I don't like to be blasphemous and all but it kind of stuck! : ) We go to Chuck-A-Jesus about once every other year to get it out of their system. We have simple parties here at home...they get an "invite some friends" party every other year. Sam Moon?? I'll have to check it out...I need to visit!

Hugs to you!

Oh, I have some girls whow would LOVE to peruse that place. We don't have big stores here in rural NH and I have a feeling they don't have one of those in the whole state! (That's when it's fun to visit MI.)

Happy birthday to your daughter!
