This Old Dog...

I'm delighted to be guest posting today over at Little Bites of Heaven. And in keeping with our little Question Fest, I do answer a question I frequently get: How is the experience with the twins different or similar to my singletons. Here's a little taste to get you started. Then follow the link on over to Rachael's...

You would have thought after six babies, I'd be a little hard to surprise.

But you could have flat knocked me over when, halfway through my last pregnancy, our ultrasound tech made a little discovery.

  1. I can only imagine your surprise at that moment--I have always wanted twins...everyone seems to think I am crazy including my hubby :) He always says we are taking it one at a time. Great post.

  2. My hubby WANTS twins so bad! :-) I can't imagine the nursing part...one would just do it, right?! I mean they must be fed..."Welcome to Dairy Queen!" HEEHEE! Thanks for sharing, what neat memories! Awesome that you were able to avoid csection! Was it super hard to deliver natural? Here's hoping to you catching on sleep someday! :-)

  4. I read the entire thing.

    You have a great attitude.

I don't think I could be very happy with so little sleep.

But I think there would be a lot of sweetness. It seems that babies have invisible angels accompanying them after birth. So you must have had an entire host in your home.

I can also relate to your helpful and supportive attitude toward your husband. Making a family work really is a team effort, and sometimes we have different jobs in making it all work. It's really nice that you recognize that.

And I still think you are amazing wtih 8 kids. It's a lot of work on a little tiny bit of sleep!

  5. Caught you over at Little Bites and wanted to say hello. As a twin myself (#8 of 8 kids, in fact) and a mom to a singleton (3) and triplets (7 months) myself, I nodded in agreement throughout your entire post.

I always loved being part of a large family, and I'm sure your kids feel the same way...most days anyway!
