Things I've Learned...

DSC04174
I'm super helpful.

I just love to give nuggets of my wisdom to the world.

For example...

See the above picture?

That was taken just as we were finding out that we were going to be moving...right at the end of my pregnancy with the twins.

And here I am four weeks after the move and one week before the twins were born...

So here's my wisdom...

It's really, really hard to move when you're pregnant with twins, literally and location-wise.

(Did you notice the unpacked moving box behind me?)
Betcha didn't know that, did ya?

Aren't you glad to now know that?

Told ya I'm full of helpful tips...

  1. holy cow! 'scuse me for saying so, but you were HUGE! the night before i had my twins i realized that we did not have one of those side-ways shots, so i posed for one. it wasnt' until after the twins were born that i had the pictures developed. when i saw the picture that i was horrifed! i was immense! (both babies were nearly 7 pounds) i was like- i can't believe you let me walk around in public like that! i was so HUGE...

    anyway- thanks for sharing!

  2. and you just did what you had to do with 6 other kids also in the background, unseen. I'm amazed that you even had your hair combed and could smile through it all!

  3. Quoting children's author Kevin Henkes, "Wow," that's all I can say!

  5. omgosh, I think my belly button just stretched in sympathy.

You look gorgeous in those photos - no visible signs of moving stress anywhere!

  6. you look so beautiful in those photos and I am beside myself that you did all this pregnant with twins & 6 other children to care for...

  7. And I thought I was large with my 11 pound baby still "baking" this time last year. Octamom, if you have ANY abs left, I commend you...I may be back in a size 6, but my tummy is all stretched out : )

  9. Amazing pics!!!! I love OTHER pregnant people....but it reminded me of why I don't think I want to do it again..lol!

  10. You were just so cute pregnant! Thanks for the tip!

  11. The light in the top picture is beautiful.

And I am so amazed and impressed that you were standing, and smiling, being so pregnant! I have no idea how you did that move. No one should have to move when they are pregnant with twins!!! And yet you manage to smile. At least, for the camera. So, you've passed on an example of a good attitude. The unpacked boxes are completely irrelevant!

  12. HAha! "Literally AND location wise" I LOVE IT! And I believe it.
You looked beautiful pregnant! What a cute round tummy!

  13. Full of wisdom/tidbits and confirmation that you are amazing.

My son was sitting with me while I was reading this post and he said, "Wow Mommy. What is that?"
I told him that was your belly with two babies inside. His three year old response, "It's huge and looks like my big ball (yoga ball). That's cool Mommy."

    I don't know how you managed that one...yes I do...God!

  18. Oh bless your heart I bet that not a fun move at all for you! You look gorgeous all preggers! :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. You are so funny. I cannot even begin to imagine how hard it is to move when you are preggers. I hope i never have to know LOL.

We redid our floors and that was stressful enough for me when I was preggers. :)

  20. Can you believe that your skin can stretch so much? It amazed me both times I was pregnant, and I never had twins!

And to move too whilst large with child. Wow, I'm impressed.

  21. Beautiful pictures. I do not have one of me when I was pregnant with the twins. However, there really was not much to film. They were premature and I spent the entire time on hospital bedrest. However, I do wish I had 1 photograph....

  22. You looked FABULOUS! (and still do)

You carried so amazingly well! Gorgeous pictures!

  23. Woah doggy, that's one massive belly ya had going on there. You just made me feel normal on my last pregnancy, lol!

  24. You are beautiful! I love pregnancy pictures!

Last Saturday night I got to hold, not one, but, two little girls while their mommy and daddy ate dinner. I'd gladly do one more pregnancy for twin girls...the worst thing that could happen would be a baseball team, right?

  25. You looked amazing pregnant with twins. I can't imagine how difficult it was to move and have all of those life changes happening. Those photos are just great!

  26. I'm afraid that by the time we finally sell our house I will be hugely pregnant. Though not with twins. ;)
    You still looked gorgeous!

  30. How is it possible to be so lovely when you're ginormous??

    ReplyDelete
  31. Trust me I know, its hard to move with twins and it is hard right impossible when you add one more baby to the mix (triplets) :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wow! You look gorgeous! And yes, moving is no fun. Even when you're not pregnant.

  33. I think it was a good thing I couldn't see that picture through the district server firewall. I would have fallen out of my chair and the students would have had to call my principal to peel me up off the floor. :-)

I was never that "fortunate" to see what it was like to get that big as James decided that mommy didn't need to go from plus sized unpregnant woman to plus sized full term mommy. Thank goodness for small favors.

    Love the beach photo.

  34. That's one big but adorable belly! And you are one strong woman for pulling off the moving thing with no major meltdowns (right?). It's quite possible I woulda melted down, a lot. I'm IM-PRESSED!

  35. I love pregnancy photos! Beautiful:)

  36. OH MY, YOU WERE HUGE!!!!! Sorry, I had to say that because I know how much twin mummies like to be told how big they are. You look so cute though, how is that possible... pregnant, twins, moving, 6 other kids, still smiling and lookin' cute.

Now we all know where 6 of 8 gets her genes for helpful hints from. Thanks for the tip.

Did you take any photos of your feet? My feet swell up after a hard day sitting on the couch, I can't imagine what they would have done if I was in your position!

  37. I've moved twice while pregnant, which is bad enough...but never with twins! You are so brave!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Just one word comes to mind - ouch! that looks so painful. But, you look beautiful in both pictures. You are amazing. :)

  41. I think I have seen the beach photo before on a scrapblog, it is gorgeous.

So are you showing us these photos as a pre-empt to how you may look again soon!

Eight is NOT enough, isn't that how the saying goes!

    Big hugs
    Peggy

  42. You look amazing, and honestly, I know you can do pretty much anything you put your mind too, though it might not be easy or advisable (like moving while already carrying that kind of load) :)

    Hugs,
    Steph

  43. Now, don't take this the wrong way, cuz it's meant as a compliment. I've never seen anyone with such an enormous stomach look so incredible. SERIOUSLY.

How did you walk? And take care of your other 6 kids?
