I have parents.
I do.
And they miraculously survived raising me.
They dropped in for a visit last week and we spent a lot of time outside, enjoying the beautiful weather and the grandbabies.
And yes, my dad turns into a big ol' mushy marshmallow when it comes to 7 of 8...
And I'm pretty sure I saw him handing out money on the sly to several of the kids...
...the same man who paid me ten cents per shirt for ironing his dress shirts back in the day...
So where do you think 6 of 8 gets her blue eyes? Anyone?>
And does my mom have the coolest hair ever or what? M can't wait for my hair to go this shade...

So much love in those photos :) Don't we all wish our hair could someday look as lovely as your Mom's...I think, speaking for myself, there will be many years of the "salt & pepper" variety to endure first!
ReplyDelete10 cents!!! Wow, you got paid?? :9
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. Lovely family.
There's those goodlooking genes again!
ReplyDeleteWow love the hair and those blue eyes!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family!!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots Julie! Don't know if you remember but my mom has hair that color too. Don't think it will hit me though since she has been that color since her 30s and I have Grandpa Hale's dark hair with sprinklings that are in all the wrong places! LOL
ReplyDeleteThose eyes are incredibly gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteGoodness me. What a beautiful family you have.
ReplyDeleteGrandparents are a blessing. My folks are coming to visit tomorrow, and I think my children are going crazy with anticipation. (As for me, I just can't stop cleaning...)
:D I'm so glad you enjoyed your time together. Thanks for sharing the photos!

What great pictures, your parents are beautiful! I love how sweet and mushy grandpaw's act around their grandbabies!
ReplyDeleteHoly eyeballs!
ReplyDeleteYour mum has GREAT hair!
Still laughing at the third sentence.
ReplyDeleteI love grandparents and the joy on their faces when they hold a grandbaby!
ReplyDeleteThose photographs are amazing! I love your moms eyes and her hairs. She's gorgeous! I'm not just saying that. She really is!
ReplyDeleteIt is so great when we have time with our parents. When we still have our parents. I treasure my parents so much and they are a blessing from God!
Great post. Sorry to gush so much, but it is!
Such sweet pictures. Grandmas and Grandpas or Grandpas and Grandpas as my poor, gender title deficient boys call them, are the best.
ReplyDeleteSounds and looks like they had a wonderful visit. Such great pics. I need to take some with my kids when my parents are here again...
ReplyDeleteYour mom does indeed have the coolest hair. She's downright gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your dad is a loving, mushy Grandpa like mine is. It's fun, if a bit baffling, to watch!
I see the resemblance between you and your mom... and the eyes of course! Your kiddos couldn't miss with the eye genes they inherited from both sides of the family it seems.
ReplyDeleteLovely, happy photographs!
... so that's what a rocket scientist looks like :-)
ReplyDeleteYour mom is quite a looker! Love the eyes and the hair. That's so great that they get to enjoy the grands...precious moments!

Your mom is beautiful!! I can totally see that your family has the blue eye bug i hoped i might be able to pass on to at least ONE of my kids since my dad has blue eyes, but God chose to give mine varying shades of chocolate, and one very curly headed little girly girl. I am content...
ReplyDeleteDid you ever read the kids version of the story about Amy Carmichael?? A must read for your kids, especially the girls. I love that she used to pray that God would change her eyes to be like her younger sister who had beautiful light eyes, and she was greatly offended that God chose not to answer her prayer but kept her plain brown eyes brown, but in later years God revealed to her the purpose behind the color of eyes he gave her. She was used greatly to touch the hearts and lives of people in India when she went for missionary work. God knows... sorry for the tangent, but love that story. Anyhow, really loved seeing these pictures.
Those are some precious moments captured, to say the least! What an absolute gorgeous family. All those eyes..... wow.
ReplyDeleteYour mom is beautiful--eyes, hair, and all!!
ReplyDeleteYep, I was thinking the same thing about the eyes!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos.
I found you today through another blog.
