Want to make your kid become more mature in 45 minutes?
I have cracked the code.
First, have the orthodontia appliances they've been sporting for the last five years, the braces and the head gear and the palatal expander and bands and all that jazz, have all that stuff removed.
Then, brush out their waist length hair, the style they've been sporting for many a season. Gather said hair and weave the bottom 13 inches of it into a braid.

Then whack it off.

Next, photograph the results.

And there you have it, a five-to-six year visual maturation process condensed to a 45 minute session.
Now to figure out how to keep boys away from her....
Wow! All grown up!
ReplyDeleteI still remember having my braces off.
For the first half hour my teeth felt too smooth, slimy almost, because there were no metal blocks and wires, just tooth!
Of course, without all the dental paraphernalia it does make it SO much easier to smile!
How exciting for her! How scary for you! I remember when Caitlin decided she didn't want long hair anymore...it made me very sad.
ReplyDeleteand then lipstick adds another 5 years or so!!!
ReplyDeleteShe's looking so much like her mother :o)
She's gorgeous! You will have to find a way to keep the boys away from her. This might be where the actual armor of God would come in handy. Breastplate - check; shield - check, sword - check, chastity belt - check; and there you go.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Thats exactly what I was thinking.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing transformation. I love how you give me so many things to look forward to with Taylor. Some happy, some sad, and many many that are both.
Love and Prayers,
Tim
Wow! She has beautiful hair, before & after! Beautiful girl!

ReplyDeleteWOW WOW WOW and oh my gosh! Firstly she looks so much like her Mamma and secondly WOW simply stunning. Young lady you are beautiful ....Dad will be beating boys from the door with a stick.
ReplyDeleteStunning.

ReplyDeleteWith those eyes? Not a chance of keeping the boys away. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right! She does look more mature. She's stunning!
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely!
ReplyDeleteMy first post-braces picture was taken with a Polaroid, and I was wearing a country blue sweatshirt with an off-white turtleneck underneath. And my hair was not combed. My cowlick was rowdy that day.
She is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHow to keep the boys away...easy...just teach 3 of 8 to carry a gun like he means it =)
ReplyDeleteScary how fast they grow but she is so beautiful
ReplyDeleteShe's gorgeous Octamom! Ok, now, how do we reverse the process? It's all happening to quickly here as it is! I don't need any help speeding things along :p
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty. She is incredible - before and after.
ReplyDeleteTwo years ago my son got his braces off, cut his hideous long hair, and traded glasses for contacts - in one week. It was also amazing. I hate to tell you but the girls did notice. And they still do.
She's beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteAnd, I'm wondering, are you going to donate that hair? Because I bet there are tons of kids waiting anxiously for a wig with hair that pretty!
She's so beautiful! I love her "new" look.... So how old is she? My daughter is 13. There was a lot of maturing between 6th and 7th grade, and I know, from teaching 8th-graders, she's going to look and act even older next year. Waw...
ReplyDeleteRoban
she is truly beautiful. best of luck with the boys :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow.. Beat the boys off with large heavy baseball bats. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful young lady. You are truly blessed x 8.
ReplyDeleteWhat a knock-out! (and no matter the exterior revisions, you can clearly see the beauty resident in the "before" shots too!)
ReplyDeleteDon't try to keep all the boys away...I'm guessing she has good discernment...just like her mama! :)
Wow! She looks beautiful. Amazing how you've presented it here. You must be so proud... Miss you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful new look, so sweet and as with each of the Octamom clan the most captivating eyes!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beauty!!! Yea, you better get that boy thing figured out quickly!
ReplyDeleteOh.My.Gosh! WOW! WOW! WOW! What a HUGE change! Just amazing! She is just gorgeous and now looks so grown up!
ReplyDeleteps Funny, but today, my 12 yr old got his braces! LOL It made me cry... he went from being a baby to a boy in seconds...
Beautiful hair! She's gorgeous! Stay away boys...LOL! :) XOXO
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful young lady you have. My 13 year old is just getting her braces. Thank goodness for small favors as she is entering High School. Is it wrong to hope that braces will keep the boys away? :)
ReplyDeleteI remember that process oh so clearly--it took about a month for me, the year I was 15. The braces, then the hair, then the makeup. Life was never the same. ;)
ReplyDeleteHer hair was beautiful did you's mail it in to wigs for children with Cancer? Can't remember the name of the website. I mailed 11 inches in and my dd received a post card with a thank you note.
ReplyDeleteTime to lock that one in the closet and not let her out til' she's 30yr
what a beautiful lady you have there, and what amazing eyes!!! I also remember the victory of finally getting my braces off. FREEDOM!!! Locks of Love is the name of the organization that takes hair to make wigs from...
ReplyDeleteMy dad used to keep a big, fat stick next to the door when our dates came to pick us up. He called it his Health Club. He'd say to them, "Treat her well and you'll stay healthy." I get it now...
ReplyDeleteOoohhh, that is a change! I have heard of multiple fathers meeting the "prospective" at the door while sharpening the biggest knife in the house... worth a thought:) My dad wasn't too worried, I'd like to think it was my level-headed-ness and discerning taste that made dad feel safe but more likely it was that I was dating the youth pastor.
ReplyDeleteYeah, good luck with that last part, she's gorgeous! : )
