My above picture is my latest take on my 2009 word, EXCELLENCE. 7 of 8 took six steps last week, the most she has ever taken. She is now almost 23 months old, working so hard to overcome the effects of a neo-natal stroke. The little insignia on the photo says, "Excellence is learning to walk when it would be easier to keep crawling..."
The amazing MirusPeg had this photo essay of her 2009 word, BALANCE:

AVT Coach chose this image as her 2009 word, ABUNDANCE:

Fly Girl had this compilation to represent her words of FAITH and JOY:

And Mommy Victory showed us her continued work toward greater DISCIPLINE as she is working toward feeding her family healthy meals:

Be sure and visit these amazing ladies to see more wit and wisdom as we walk through the year!

It's a beautiful thing to see her walking! My husband will be 5 years post stroke on April 7...and from behind, although it is his right side that was affected, there is that same look: one hand outstretched, the affected hand/arm bent...
ReplyDeleteI know you have a lot of therapy ahead of you but it's all so worth it. She can do it!!!
Good morning, Octamom! I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how glad I am you have joined us in this joint venture (and adventure.) I was so excited to be able to post that picture for you on my blog. Thanks for letting us share in your excitement. You can see it in 6 of 8's (?) face!
ReplyDeleteYay! Go 7 of 8! And isn't that a great look of suprise and encouragement on her big sister's face?!
ReplyDeleteI am still trying to focus on the transformation (which was my word) in me and around me; and it's wonderful to be able to observe (from a distance) huge transformations like this one.
Amen!
Good evening Julie....nearly my bedtime and you will be enjoying your first cup of coffee!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delight is it joining forces with our monthly word posts.
This photo of yours depicts EXCELLENCE like nothing else could....looks like your whole family will be "walking through the year with us".
Have a wonderful week.
Hugs
Peggy
6 steps!!!! Way to go 7 of 8. You must be one proud mummy!!!
ReplyDeleteI really didn't need to read that it's 1/4 way through the year and I still havent written down my word. I must get on to that...
I love this! There is nothing greater than to see a child learn to walk. Ok so I take that back. Seeing them mommy give life to them may come first, but I still love these little moments of accomplishment. It is so brave and courageous for ones so small.
ReplyDeleteLove and Prayers,
Tim
Thank you so much for sharing these! And what a big step for 7 of 8. :) Actually, what big STEPS!
ReplyDeleteI must admit, reading your blog it's not difficult to imagine that excellence would be your word for the year.
Have a wonderful day! - Julia
That is so exciting about your dd!! :) I am slowly working on my word, simplify!! I really see the benefits of getting rid of the junk, stream-lining schedules, and just prioritizing based on what God wants, not what we want or others want us to do...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder and what a neat peek at all these goals!
:D
I have work burnout and wedding stress, which is all causing me to be much more sensitive than usual so when I started to read these, my eyes filled up with tears. I love the look on her big sister's face. I also really liked the faith and joy one. Have a good day! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your photograph and share in your joy over 7 of 8's progress! How exciting it must be to watch her take these steps!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're one of my blog buddies.... You're always an inspiration to me.
