From the moment he was born, we knew 8 of 8 looked uncannily like his PaPa.
And with each passing stage of development we see it more and more.
Of course, the grandparents, aunts, uncles and I love to play this game, the game of "Who Do the Children Look Like?" M just shakes his head at us as we discuss all the angles. He often states, "They each look like themselves. What's with all the analysis?"
What can I say? We're Southerners. (That's a great excuse for a lot of compulsive behavior...)
But even M had to admit that the genetic apples were not falling to far afield on this one...
PaPa, circa 1939...and 8 of 8, circa 2009.

And, of course, it was a great excuse to hold a little impromptu photo shoot. I wanted 8 of 8 to emulate the rather serious expression of his PaPa's photo...so he immediately started cheesing it for the camera...
As in, super cheeseball...

So cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to get mum to dig out our little set of freaky clone photos.
SO that's where they get those gigantic gorgeous eyes!
ReplyDeleteIn my best put on southern accent:
ReplyDelete"You mahty raht about that"
"They sure are fahn-lookin' boys"
"They both look mighty pert in those photos"
Hugs and love
Peggy
But he's such a cute cheeseball. :) Definitely see the resemblance. I'm sure that's one proud PaPa!
ReplyDeleteBut he's such a cute cheeseball. :) Definitely see the resemblance. I'm sure that's one proud PaPa!
ReplyDeleteAw, that's so cute! Our 6 of 7 (Eli) doesn't look like his Papa but has so many of the quirky, silly mannerisms that his late Papa had (who he never got to meet). We joke that while the Lord was making him Papa helped.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! That is amazing! I need to do this with my Owen. He looks JUST like his Poppy! It's crazy!
ReplyDeleteWow, he sure is a little clone. And an adorable one at that.
ReplyDeleteThey're twins! It doesn't even look like you were involved at all in the genetics thing.
ReplyDeletethat is one super cute little cheeseball.
ReplyDeleteAnd yep, he does look like his PaPa (which is what my kids call one of their grandfathers!)
WOW, those 2 pics side by side are amazing. They do look alike. How special that you have those pics.
ReplyDeleteYour little guy sure is adorable and there is nothing wrong with being cheesy.
ReplyDeleteMy brother and my nephew look so much alike that my nephew can't identify whether a picture is of him or my brother. It's really creepy.
ReplyDeleteWe have a resemblance like that in our family. My nephew and my dad are seriously like twins, much like 8 and his PaPa. We always said that Sir-Falls-A-Lot looked like his grandpa, but one day my mom was going through old pics and found one of my dad at SFAL's age. The resemblance was uncanny!
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is so cool how genetics work, huh? :-) Great photos!
ReplyDeleteWow. The first photo is fantastic. I love it. Love love love it. The resemblance is uncanny.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are some strong genes!! Great WW!
ReplyDeleteThey look a lot, a lot alike! Wow! I love 8's slicked down hair! So cute!
ReplyDeleteAw look at those handsome guys!
ReplyDeleteI love his cheeseball photo .. and that picture of him and his PaPa is just precious!
Wow, the resemblence is uncanny!
ReplyDeleteHow ironic, too, I also blogged about my Pa-Paw today and had old pictures on it! Take a look if you have the chance.
Wow, same big, beautiful eyes.
ReplyDeleteI think they are definitely related :)
I am not very good at the "Who Do the Children Look Like?" game. When my oldest was born, everyone on Hubby's side thought he looked like my Dad and everyone on my side thought he looked like his Daddy.... I'm sitting there going, "huh?"
They do look so much alike! I love the side by side's your reenactment of 8 of 8 turned out great!
ReplyDeletemy mom me and my daughter all have a picture at the wearing the same dress. funny we all looked similar with the blond curly hair (now my mom and me have dark strait hair, lol)
Holy cow they look SO similar!!!
ReplyDelete8 of 8's eyes are beautiful, love the dark ring around the blue. Amazing resemblance!
ReplyDelete*gasp* Adorable! And yes, the resemblance is unbelievable!! How precious.
ReplyDeleteas a gal who hails from the south I must say we do have complusive behaviors!!!
ReplyDeletewow the similarities are amazing...i love when you do these photo blogs.
Wow, that is a pretty strong resemblence! And I think that first picture is so cool!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I LOVE to constantly look for family resemblence as well and my MIL always says the same thing "they look like themselves!" HA!
You weren't kidding about the resemblance!
ReplyDeleteThe resemblance is amazing. They look like IDENTICAL twins!
ReplyDeleteWOW! You aren't kidding! They couldn't look more alike.
ReplyDeleteI love playing that game with my kiddos, too. Only, no one looks like me or my family. Nurse boy's genes seem to be dominate!
Mrs. Nurse Boy
simply adorable! and the 1st photo is sooooo great!
ReplyDeleteUNCANNY resemblance! Love it and that photo at the top makes me misty. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd like any good Southern girl, I too have a PaPa...he's 92 and going strong. Wishing a lengthy, healthy life to 8's PaPa. :)
See...I think the game is a necessary part of life. :) Wow...I totally see it :)
ReplyDeleteSee...I think the game is a necessary part of life. :) Wow...I totally see it :)
ReplyDeleteWow they really do look alike. I could pass for my mom's twin at times. People usually think we are sisters.
ReplyDeleteI looked at those photos before I read your post I thought it was a photo shop of the same child. Uncanny! its amazing the similarities in the pic's.
ReplyDeleteAmazing resemblance
ReplyDeleteWow, the resemblance is striking! What handsome little boy(s)! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis photo sequence will be a precious family heirloom for your little guy.
