A Bang of Botox

blade

I thought I wasn't the type.

You know, to go under the blade.

But those pesky little lines on my forehead just kept getting deeper. So I did my research, looked at the options, considered the risks.

And I am completely thrilled to share with you a deep forehead wrinkle treatment place that met and exceeded my needs. No anesthesia, no chemicals, no stitches, no risk of looking 'over done', completely reversible and relatively inexpensive.

It's awesome.

But it does involve a blade.

That's the part you have to be brave about.

But check out my results.

Here's the before....

bangs2edit

And now for the after...

bangs1

I call it Botox Bangs.

Completely organic, completely reversible.

And no more forehead wrinkles. Unless it's windy outside.

But still.

  1. Big fan of the fringe. From the bit I can see yours looks great!

It hid some of the highschool pimples (and the ones that haven't realised I'm not in highschool anymore), it hid many many head injuries, it gives a little extra sun protection, it hides the fact that I have a HUGE forhead. All in all, fringe is good, I don't see botox doing any of that!

  2. You have fantastic eyes! Please tell me they're natural and not contacts!
My daughter has green eyes (the only one in the family that anyone knows about!), but they're a darker, greyer green than yours.
    Loving the fringe!

  3. You are a very FUNNY green eyed lady.

What a wonderful sense of humour.

    Big hugs

  4. Bangs also hide ginormous foreheads, high school hairspray induced pimples, and now, yeah, those wrinkles. It's painless, there's no recovery time (unless you snip them off yourself and get a little overzealous and cut them way too short; yeah, don't ask ;)), and they grow back pretty quickly.

    Love it!

  5. I have been considering the blade also, only mine is due to a teenage like onslaught of breakouts. I thought pimples were supposed to end after 19. Apparantly not.

    Have a great day!

  6. Boo Hoo. Now that you are using Flickr to post your photos into your blog, I can't see them when I am at school. I will have to wait until I get home late tonight to see this miraculous discovery. I have considered this innovation myself to cover up my melasma. It's amazing what one can do with a good pair of scissors these days.

  7. I just grew out my bangs ( which I've had all of my life) a few years ago.
But I have noticed the forehead lines getting deeper, and the weird pimple outbreaks after 30 (I'm done beeing a teenager, what the heck?),so bringin back the bangs is a good idea. Maybe I'll be brave enough sometime to do it. :)

    Thanks Octamom!

  8. Way to research those cosmetic options, looks like you got lots of, bang for your buck!

Sorry, someone had to say it...

Very cute, is that a new color as well?

  9. What a clever post! I think I may need the blade soon too. :)

BTW you have gorgeous eyes! WoW!

  10. Whew! I don't know why, but I'm so relieved!

As I looked at your first photo, I said to myself...hmm. Those are scissors. But it didn't connect until I saw your "after" shot.

I am a furrowed brow mom who is trying to create more smile lines than frown lines. What a relief to know I'm not the only one who is choosing to 'go natural'. ;)

Gotta go, though -- I have a phone call to make (to my hair dresser).

  11. That is too funny. I have to say though that you have the prettiest eyes I have ever seen. So dont let those bangs cover them up!! That would be a travesty!

    Love and Prayers,

  12. LOVE the bangs! adorable. I asked for bangs and my hairdresser said "ahhh, I don't know if that's the best look for you"...she gave me the best cut I ever had, so i guess I trust her on that. They look awesome on YOU though!

  13. Love the new look! I actually went and did bangs last week too, and was thrilled with similar results. Of course, it helps that the bangs hide my VERY gray part! :)

  18. I have to chuckle. Your post is clever, and I have always thought the same thing about bangs. I'm thinking that I can hold out for a few more years before I cut my own botox bangs. Very cute.

  27. I tried bangs as botox awhile back and they just did not look nearly as good on me as they seem to on you! Although it could be because you have gorgeous green eyes that are surely highlighted by your new lovely look!

  37. love this post! i have bangs too, and i thought i was the only one... i never even pretend to be fashionable. i leave that to moms like you. ;) i just got around to reading your post at heart of the matter. i can't agree with you more- about homeschooling, i mean. i was in my first year of homeschooling the 4 older ones, when my marriage abruptly and shockingly fell apart. it was the homeschooling that helped hold our family (or what was left of it) together. it was the routine and normalcy that we were accustomed to. and i was not sending hte kids off each day to school, and then them not knowing what new disaster they would come home to... and most recently, it has been good as well. in moving to our "new" house, the boys have all been able to help and learn while we fix it up. and we were'nt worried about dates of moving, or location of school district, like you mentioned. the older ones have also been able to build and foster a close relationship with the little girls. that is a good thing, too. PA homeschool laws are the most restrictive, i've heard, but once you wrap your brain around what the law requires, it's not too bad... i like your blog, and the happy chaos in your house...

  38. Please come to my funeral.

I just died of jealousy. Your eyes can't possibly be that green.

    Sigh. So jealous.

PS. I'll never go bangless again. Also, the grease in my hair helps moisturize my forehead. Two birds with one stone!

  39. You totally had me going! I was sure you had discovered something new and innovative. Innovative, yes! New, not so much.
