I wasn't sure I should go.
After all, I had been doing okay since I returned stateside. I'd re-entered civilian life, gotten back into the rhythms of new routines.
But it was their faces that I couldn't get out of my mind as I went about my daily routines. Their faces would appear to me and I would wonder.
I would wonder how they were doing, how they were handling their challenges, their difficulties. I wondered about their relationships and if they were able to work through some of their issues.
So last night, I just had to go. I had to return.
I knew they needed me.
And just as I suspected, Hurley was having a tough time, Kate and Jack had some serious unresolved problems, John was still seemingly walking on a different plane of the time-space continuum and Ben was up to his old tricks and Sayid is having some serious anger issues. Juliet and Sawyer have been kind of thrown together in all the chaos, but they might have some possibilities. I'm proud of Sun; she's really working hard on the mommy thing.
I was so thrilled to see their familiar faces. I was so glad to know how they were doing, so pleased to see their progress and so distraught to see their troubles.
And I think they were glad to see me too.
Lost.
Ah.
I'm so glad I came back.

I really need to watch that show. My question is how come in all these years that one guy doesn't lose any weight due to circumstances? It's just not normal.
ReplyDeleteI've never watched this one before, I've heard of it just never got to it. Probably has nothing to do with the fact I live in a house full of guys who love spongebob and football.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally bummed that I missed it and will be watching this week. We are complete Lost addicts in my home!
ReplyDeleteI am convinced that Widmore infected my family with some Dharma illness. We've been dropping like flies all week around here. But we persevered and were able to watch the the premiere last night. I'll have to rewatch it due to the fact that I am hopped up on all sorts of Sudafed and Tylenol. Returning to the island sounds pretty good right now.
ReplyDeleteLOL! So glad you were able to get back and really be there for those guys/gals! :) At first, I thought you were talking about your kids...*a duh moment*! Then I was like, "Wait! Those aren't her kids names...they are 4 of 8 etc!" *Blush* I am pretty sheltered out her in the boon docks and have no tv so sometimes I'm out of the loop! What a dork I am! :P
ReplyDeleteHave a SUPER THURSDAY! :)
NO NO NO! SHH!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't watched it online, yet!
So glad to see you are a Lost junkie like I am! I'm already looking forward to next week : )
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I watched the 1st 2 seasons...part of the 3rd...totally said no more on the 4th.. but now it is in there recorded from last night...and my hubby loves it.....I am debating. He tried to "catch me up" and really scared me---this show is INSANE!!!
ReplyDeleteI have never watched this show but I hear it's good.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I couldn't wait to return to the island too! We always record it to watch a little later in the night or the next day so that I can fast forward through all those commercials...they drive me nuts!
ReplyDeleteI need to watch the last half an hour as I fell asleep before it was over!
ReplyDeleteIt was good though. :)
I have it taped so I have to admit I skimmed the post, just in case. I can't wait to watch it!
ReplyDelete... I hope you brought your sunscreen and bug repellant. (hee hee!)
ReplyDeleteI wonder, what will you do when it's all over this season? ... I guess there's always sindication, if you get lonely for the island, I mean. ;D

oh, i just love Lost! i'm hopelessly addicted...
ReplyDeletelol I'm afraid to get into it and be addicted :S
ReplyDeleteNever been to the island (okay, once for 20 minutes but I didn't know what was going on). But I know it is very addicting!
ReplyDeleteLOL, that's funny. I never got into that show, but I'm currently addicted to The Bachelor, and The Biggest Loser. I know, I know, don't even say it! haha
ReplyDeleteI've tried to watch but just can't. At the end of the day, I need the Office or something else to make me laugh! we purposely put the kids to bed early on Thursday nights!
ReplyDeleteHaving a mini watch party tonight. We always catch it on ABC.com the following day since if the signal would cut out, we'd freak out. That's the con of not paying for cable... that and watching the Golden Globes while holding an antenna on top of my head.
ReplyDeleteIt was an all family event-which includes humoring some indiosyncrisies(& no I can't spell!). For example we have to watch in a totally dark room, no talking is allowed, and the volume has to be set on an odd number.I never said we were normal, but that might be part of the draw to island...hmmm...looking forward to being Lost this spring!
ReplyDeleteI thought about watching the "this is all that's happened so far" episode, so I would be able to watch it this year. But I didn't. I guess I'll just have to stay LOST....

May I tell you that as a writer, an observer of life, a husband and a father, that sometimes we need to revisit our past as we move forward and appreciate the future.
ReplyDeleteLove LOST. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, sometimes it's good to get LOST. I am looking forward to this week's. My only hope is that more questions get answered rather than the last couple of season's where you're like What? and WHAT?
