Come see for yourself...
M calls it my scary bride tree since I wrap it all in white and cream tulle.
These magnolias were actually part of his parent's wedding rehearsal dinner center pieces over 45 years ago...
So, in retrospect, maybe the wedding tree thing is apt--except for that 'scary' adjective...what so scary about a fluffy, fabric wrapped tree?
This year I added a little feature from on idea I saw on a decorating site. Check it out.
I suspended these little birds from fishing line attached to the ceiling and hot-glued the bead garland in their beaks to make it look like they are trimming the tree...a la Cinderella and the scene where the birds trim her dress...
And I just love the apothecary jars filled with some of my favorite ornaments...
Hey, a mama's got to have a little fairy tale Christmas corner all her own, right?

Very lovely I just love the birds it is like a fairy tale really
I think the idea with the birds is fantastic!
I might have to try that next year if I get brave enough to put my tree up indoors.
I love those birds, but I have one question...Is your dining room surrounded by barb-wire fencing? :)
That's what it would take to keep my kids away from those beads. I can just picture Tarzan bead swinging, however short lived it may be. :)
We had beads on our tree for the first 24 hours. Niyah kept playing with them and knocking off the other ornaments, that I told her she could just keep them :)
What a beautiful tree! We have a mixture of my pretty (read: breakable) stuff and the kids ornaments all on the same tree. Makes for a little nervousness for Mommy during the family decorating. And as soon as the kids aren't looking, all "my" stuff gets moved up high out of reach.
Breakables are safe in your house? I have the least rambunctious children I know, and those apothecary jars would still not remain intact here.
wow love your Christmas decoration!!!! so pretty!!!
gorgeous tree - I do balls in jars too!!
Oh that is lovely!
Gorgeous! Actually, at my wedding I had birds holding ribbons in trees. My photographer still talks about the birds today, 15 years later. Great minds think alike.
Those birds are pretty darn cool.
How beautiful. I love the bird idea and the ornaments look great in the bottles.
Thanks for sharing!
Ooh, I want a corner like that for me! Maybe next year...
Love your little corner with the suspended birds and the magnolias from a blessed marriage! :) I'm really loving those apothocary jars.....gotta tell my husband to smuggle some old ones out of the pharmacy tonight......don't worry. I'll only be stealing from my in laws. he he.

Very beautiful and perfectly frilly!!!
Very pretty!
Gorgeous and ingenious!
My men folk went to a friends theater for what they thought would be a showing of Beowolf, the movie ended up being one called Enchanted, I'm told it's a Cinderella type story... they walked out!
The enchanted decorating hummingbirds would be shot out of the sky at my house. I could probably get away with hawks dive bombing a, small furry critter, themed tree.
very pretty. I love the pearls and birds. so creative!
Great idea! I'm glad you have a little corner of your world... "In my own little corner, in my own little room, I can be whatever I want to be..."
May your fairy tale continue...!

I love that you have your own corner....
I 100% agree. I think moms have a right to just a little piece of the Christmas pie themselves. I'm glad you have your place. Your tree is beautiful.
oh Mama! I loved it as soon as I saw them ... those birds are AWESOME! (like, totally)
Oh, If only I had a room that I knew no light-sabre would enter...
Beautiful! I dream of a room like that!
I love it! I wish I had a corner in my house that the kids couldn't see or touch! I am jealous of your creativity also :)
Wow the bird thing looks great! That is very neat that the Magnolia is that old and that special.
I was so proud of myself for switching from cheezy silver garland to ribbon this year. Now I see just how far I still have to go. *Sigh*
P.S. I love the birds stringing beads. That is so cool!
Beautiful!!
I came over from Hootin' Anni's blog. I love your tree; I'm sure it's splendid. I don't think it's scary at all. I love the birds. Wish I had your imagination!
