Seriously excited.
So we've all established I'm a photo freak--love my big Canon, love my little Sony point and shoot, love taking pictures and sharing them.About a year ago, I happened across a site that I immediately connected with. Scrapblog. Oh the joy! Now don't get me wrong--I still have a deep and abiding love for paper scrapbooking. Heck, I own all the tools, trees worth of paper and enough photo splits to roof a house. But my inclination to get all the supplies out and paper scrapbook has been in hibernation since pretending to manage a household with lots of small children. They seem to think all those pretty papers and stickers belong to them, preferably papering floors and walls.
Enter my digital nirvana.
Scrapblog.
Scrapblog is a free on-line scrapbooking site, complete with amazing backgrounds and stickers. It moves fast, fast, fast and is constantly updated with all kinds of new designs and goodies. The wallpaper you see here on my blog is from Scrapblog. I designed my header at Scrapblog.
But wait, there's more!
Scrapblog has also added the ability to edit your photos while putting together your projects. They have a series of photo editing options, similar to Photoshop actions, that allow you to touch up, soften, crop and sepia to your heart's delight. You don't have to download anything to your computer--everything is done through Scrapblog's server.
Scrapblog released their printing option this fall and I was privileged to beta test this feature. I was delighted with the results. The colors are vivid, the paper of high quality and my photos looked clear and crisp. Scrapblog is now releasing their calendar printing option, and here's where you come in...
How's about five, yes, five winners on this giveaway?!?
Scrapblog has generously offered to give free calendars to five Octamom readers. You will be able to go on the site, design your calendar and print it for free! You will need to pay your own shipping, but this giveaway is open to all.
So let's do this...
Take a look at one of these Scrapblogs of mine, (Quiet Ballet, One Year, Mommy Math) pick your favorite and leave it in the comment line. You can also feel free to go to my Scrapblog site and peruse some of my other projects. Five winners will be chosen at random and I'll announce the winner next Friday.
And if you'd like an additional entry, give it a Twitter shout-out!
How do ya like them apples?
It wouldn't let me into the Mommy Math one, it said private on it.
ReplyDeleteBut I would have to say I like the quiet ballet, probably because of the story behind it and what an inspiration your daughter has become. I love the picture of her dancing on the dock.
What an awesome giveaway!!!! LOVE it :)
I couldn't see Mommy math either. :-( I loved One Year though.
ReplyDeleteMy question is, do you need a larger printer, one of the new ones that can print a 12x12 page, or do they come out pretty decent at 8x11?
Thanks for the chance!
I couldn't see Mommy math, but I remember seeing it before and loveing it! My favorite, though, would have to be Quiet Ballet. BEAUTIFUL! I also liked the one you did a while back for your hubby.
ReplyDeleteOh my heavens! Is this the answer to my prayers. I have a love/hate relationship with scrapbooking. I rarely print pics any more because I feel guilty over not scrapbooking them.
ReplyDeleteI love Quiet Ballet.
Don't enter me in the free give away because I don't want to pay the postage to India. I had to comment though, just to thank you for showing me this sight. I have been wondering what I could do with all of our photos from our stay here (I am not a scrapbook person, but clearly this event calls for one) and I think this is the answer. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't go see the Mommy Math one (it was marked private), but I wound up looking at a lot of your scrapblogs.... I loved Measure of a Man.
ReplyDeleteI love the One Year one the most. :)
ReplyDeleteYour twins are so darn cute!

ReplyDeleteyay, another great giveaway!
ReplyDeletei couldn't see mommy math, but i absolutely adore the other two. i think my favorite is a quiet ballet.
I love Scrapblog for so many reasons, but my favorite is because that is where we met!!!
ReplyDeleteI love all your scrapbooks but if I have to choose from those three, quiet ballet is just beautiful!
Thanks for doing this!
Brandi
Mommy Math is now available to view--sorry--I must have marked the setting wrong--now you can see it!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME giveaway!! I LOVE LOVE A Quiet Ballet!! It is BEAUTIFUL!!
ReplyDeleteA Quiet Ballet is just beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteMrs. Nurse Boy
I love them all...I am not ashamed to admit I peruse your scrapblogs for inspiration whenever I'm getting ready to do some work of my own! ;)
ReplyDeleteWill be back later to report on my tweet out.
Mommy Math, of course - Does scrapblog enable you to add the music to it, too? And does all this stuff just stay on the computer? Or can it be printed out for the kids to handle?
ReplyDeleteReally, really cool - though I don't see how you found the time to do it!
Do you find it faster to use one of their "themes" or do you put together your own?
ReplyDeleteMust we pick a favorite? You are one talented lady! I think Quiet Ballet is my favorite though.
ReplyDeleteMommy Math!
ReplyDeletei still have tears over quiet ballet! so beautiful.
ReplyDeletei can't wait to play on scrapblog. my daughter is one, i have tons of digital pictures of her, and almost none printed!
great giveaway:)
Beautiful! 3/5 of my kids are gone for 2 weeks visiting their dad and I'm verklempt. Mommy math...*sniff*
ReplyDeleteA "Quiet Ballet" is the Scrapblog that introduced me to you. I have been following you ever since. Likewise, you are who got me completely engrossed in Scrapblog. (Thanks a lot.) I was amazed with what you could do with Scrapblog and decided I had to try it for myself. I can't seem to stop now.
ReplyDeleteI love them all, but of course Silent Ballet is my favorite. 4 of 8 will always have a special place in my heart!
ReplyDeleteI really loved Mommy Math, but then I saw Quiet Ballet. Very sweet tribute to 4 of 8. I bet she'll treasure it when she gets older.
ReplyDeleteMust try Scrapblog. Like you, I totally abandoned paper scrapbooking.
I love Quiet Ballet........what a wonderful giveaway. I hope I win!
ReplyDeleteI like them all. Beautiful gift idea. :)
ReplyDeleteSilent Ballet is my favorite. A few years ago a hearing Impaired women moved into our neighborhood with her two children. It was a tough mix, she struggled with the neighbors and they with her. I took ASL classes and tried to become friends. It has been difficult she has come to think of herself as a victim and the world as her enemy unless she gets whatever she wants, in the way she wants it. There is terrible, ugly turmoil in her home which all could have been prevented if she had been communicated with as a child.
ReplyDeleteHer 17 year old son is often in our home he eats here many nights and enjoys boy time games with our sons and their dad. We work with him on his language skills(enunciation), and people skills, have helped him with homework and tried to treat him as one of ours so that he'll know there is a place in the world that is peaceful (relatively speaking).
I can't tell you how touched I am with the amazing joy you are finding in the journey of this beautiful daughter. I have learned so much from my limited experience with hearing loss, and enjoy learning more from your shared experiences.
Well, I'm a die hard digi scrapper - have been for over 5 years now - so anything to do with a digital scrapbooking site is something I'm all for! I'd love to see a lot more people start digi scrapping ... it opened up a whole new world for me!
ReplyDeleteQuiet ballet is my favorite - I love those pictures. I had no idea you could do such fun things with Scrapblog!
ReplyDeleteQuiet ballet -- precious.
ReplyDeleteI liked the Mommy Math one. So cute.
ReplyDeleteMommy Math was my hands down favorite! Great photos and so creative! Thanks for sharing Scrapblog! :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Do I have to choose??? I have so much in common with you, that each one struck me in such a way!
ReplyDeleteThe quiet ballet was just beautiful and tells such a wonderful story of what it's like to have a child with a handicap and to find the beauty in that gift from God. (I have certainly been there!)
The second.. One year. As a mommy of twins as well, it just was so beautiful and something that for any mommy of multiples, rings so true all that is special in their bond and in the unique experince of parenting twins :)
The final... Mommy Math was just genius! PERFECT! Of course, you know i have lots of kiddies, so our math is only ever so slightly different, but those words you chose where just perfect and appropriate.
Seriously, I LOVE them all and boy, do I want your camera!
OOOOOOOOO how exciting!!!! => I haven't heard of that site and I'm a huge scrapbooker!! Ooooo I hope I win! => LOL! XOXO
ReplyDeleteI love the Mommy Math. Soo Cute!
ReplyDeleteI know the whole idea is to spread the news about Scrapblog... and I am already a devoted user, but, hey, count me in!! I just ordered my Christmas cards and would LOVE a calendar, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to choose a favorite, but I loved "The Measure of a Man." Beautifully done!

I (an my sister--who's busy preparing for her next hairbow show) both discovered Scrapblog through you, thank you Octamom! My header is also Scrapblog created, but I daresay, not nearly as nice as yours. I think I need to hone my skills. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I think I need to go with "One Year"--as a fellow twin Mommy! It's beautiful! I love it.
Oh! and I'm doing my first giveaway ever too!
Well, I guess my favorite is mommy math because I so relate to it. But I really do love Quiet Ballet too. It's so beautiful. I really love Scrapblog too and am so glad I discovered it last winter!
ReplyDeleteQuiet Ballet was my favorite, though I loved them all.
ReplyDeleteMummy Maths. L.O.V.E.D it. I have tried "old fashioned" digital scrapbooking with photoshop and downloaded fancy frufru stuff but it was so slow and cumbersome (probably because I was a bit of a perfectionist for once in my life) I'll have to give this a go to see if I can do more than one page in a week...
ReplyDeleteOne Year. (The header over on our blog was created in scrapblog too; but I hadn't thought of doing wallpaper! Fun stuff! I'm kimintj over at SB--do I get entered twice now?)
ReplyDeleteI like the Mommy Math one. My hubby is the photobug in our home so I've got to show it to him. He'll love it.
ReplyDeleteTracy in NC
Mommy Math made me cry. As a Mommy of 4 girls, working on growing my own large family, it really touched me.
ReplyDeleteThank you for starting my day on such a note!
I loved the One Year scrapblog. What a beautiful tribute to your babies!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is SO hard to choose, but I guess I'd have to go with "Mommy Math" (since I can so relate to it.)
ReplyDeleteI signed up for Scraplog a long time ago and forgot about it! I guess I'm not sure what it does or how it works, but it looks like you share digital albums/pages, but don't print them out? I'll have to explore.
I'm a 12+ year scrapbooker (and CMC), too, but I've only done paper. Haven't delved into the world of digital yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. (Though I don't think I'll ever give up paper.)
Quiet Ballet is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteImpossible to choose, I love each and everyone equally.
ReplyDeleteIf it wasn't for scrapblog, I would not have met you my sweet friend.
Also it was your blog that I went to view the legacy to your husband's grandmother way back in March 2008.....that was the beginning of a friendship I now treasure.
Hugs
Peggy
oh, dear Octamom, A Quiet Ballet is quite beautiful - the photos, just breathtaking. But for the movie buff in me, I do like National Treasure as well!!
ReplyDeleteI left a comment on the actual scrapblog. Just came back to visit and realized I'm suppose to leave a comment here. Duh. Sometimes I'm kind of slow! I love them all. Probably Mommy Math is my favorite. Thanks for sharing your life!
ReplyDeleteYou know i adore your scrapblogs!! I know this one is not on your list of choices but my all time favorite scrapblog by you is Measure of a Man!! Over there I am Mommy Mel
ReplyDeleteWowza...I think I need to take Scrapblog lessons from you! :) I love Mommy Math!
ReplyDeleteI love them all but if I can choose only one...
ReplyDeleteMommy math it has to be!
gee, I forgot to leave me name....
ReplyDeleteOh oh.. I had just run across this and loved all that I got to see.. haven't had time to sit and figure it all out tho... But I love Quiet Ballet... how beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI hopped on over today via Steph at Problem Solvin' Mom's site. I loved your suggestions for keeping things going with the hubby. Now on to Scrapblog. I've dabbled here and there looking around, and never knew you could do such cool things with your blog and scrapblog. I think I know what I will be spending my internet time tonight researching.
ReplyDeleteAnd ask me to pick a fav layout? That's a tall, tall order. They are all fantastic, but I guess I would pick One Year because I like things vintage, and this looked nice and vintage to me.
Oh, and I just sent out a Tweet on it too from @dinkypopsnomore
ReplyDeleteI love your site and this scraping tool brought me to it. Thanks for the great perspective on it. Back to research.
