I ran across your blog through candy and I wanted to say Hi! I am amazed at 8 children and will enjoy coming back to hear you stories. I am one of eight in my family. You have an adorable blog.
*giggles hysterically* Have I mentioned lately that the more kiddos you have, the more the candy multiplies??? BAAAAAAD for Mommies! lol *hugs* Cute photos though. You're such a great photographer, and your sense of humor just leaves me in stitches. Happy Wednesday!! :)
I'm absolutely loving, LOVING this series of pictures. When I still had kids at home, my favorite time was when i could finally through away the candy. However, I'd already oinked so much of it by then that the damage was done. Thanks for a morning laugh!
I thought I was doing well. I only had one small butterfinger from the kids candy bags. YES, I was doing great. Then the wifey brought home the 'after halloween on sale' candy bags. "Look what I got for only 89 cents," she said.
Yea, um, I'm having a rough time with all the candy hanging around too. I sent most of it with my husband to work. Don't know why I kept some around....
haha - one bloggy friend of mine wrote that The Great Jack-o-lantern comes and takes the candy in the night after the kids pick 10 favorites (and donates it to a local children's shelter...) How great is that? Cuz we all know that, by now, Mom's eating most of it, anyway. I mean, by the looks of your house, anyway. I personally wouldn't know anything about that...
my sister and I were on the phone during nap time today, both eating candy after candy and she said, "my kids have forgotten about the Halloween candy, but i haven't."
I planted the seed early while we were at the Dollar Tree that the kids could sell their candy for a dollar to spend there. (A local dentist buys it for $1/lb). It worked! All night, K was bragging that she was getting lots of candy to sell to the dentist. My 2.5trick-or-treaters made $7.00! That's 7 lbs of candy even with who know how much I snarfed over the weekend before we could take it to the dentist. Bless the Lord for the willpower I had to give it up. Even got out my dregs of leftovers from last Halloween and Christmas that have been sitting in the candy jar for months. Love ya! --T
I'm SO glad that the kids ate up the candy FAST -- too tempting for me (major carb cravings lately; what I DON'T need right now!)
Anyway, thanks for the comments. You inspired me, too. I love your sillhouettes, so I played around with my GIMP as you can see. (I don't usually do portraits, so a fun op.)
That sure is a lot of candy wrappers..lol
ReplyDeleteHa!!! look at all those treats!!!! Hey the comment thigny work yay!!!!
ReplyDeleteah, the remains of the day! Fortunately, in this case, there are no little ones left at our house and we gave away EVERYTHING :)

ReplyDeleteMmm-hmm. I'm right there with you. Well...not really. I'm in my own house. But still.

I love this post. I have been cheating too. It's really tough hard to not eat when there is just so much around the house.

ReplyDeleteShew! I've got enough things to try to get off my big butt without the candy!
Well somebody has to help eat all the candy, right?
ReplyDelete{I love peanut butter cups too!}
Have fun on the treadmill! ; )

ReplyDeleteLucky you. My stash has made its way to my husband's office. At least all the good things!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....looks like we have the same decorator!!
ReplyDelete*ROFL* Me too! Me too!
ReplyDeleteFunny! I'm so glad I had to work the night of Halloween, the candy remained at the kids dad's house.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both baby!! Halloween killed my diet, I ate more than the kids!
