Peanut, Peanut Butter...and Mucus!

pb8of82

Okay, here's the thing.

The big family thing?  It can render you a noodle.

Maybe it's because all the cuteness wears you down, maybe it's because you've missed so much sleep that you lose the ability to accurately estimate how long it's going to take you to clean up a mess.

But by Kid Numero Ocho, you start finding this kind of thing hilarious...

pb8of83

Which leads to this...

And this just looks like the cutest thing you've ever seen...

And you even begin to think that somehow the mucus trailing down the peanut butter makes it all the cuter...

And instead of stopping him, you grab your camera...and you post it on your blog...and you think that everyone will find peanut butter and snot as cute as you do....

Just thought it was only fair to warn you...should you be ovulating...

  1. Hee Hee! Thanks for the laugh this morning, it was the perfect compliment to my coffee and sleep deprived mind :)
I can relate...tomorrow's WW post would go quite well with Ocho's peanut butter goatee! (chocolate and peanut butter, the perfect combination!)

    Hugs!

  2. How stinking cute is that. Us moms have such warped minds sometimes heh?

  3. Since I have been rendered sadly incapable of producing more children, it's okay if I find this adorable. Pretty soon I'll have to resort to borrowing random toddlers just to get my daily dose of cuteness. Or you could just keep posting pictures like this one. That would work even better, and save me the kidnapping charges.

  4. Really sweet. It is amazing how messy our kids can get and how even more cute they become.

  5. That's funny. My Libby grabs the peanut butter container while I'm preparing our oatmeal (I put the PB in the oatmeal, yum!)and starts eating away. She's my firstborn, though! And she's 2, and a girl, so she doesn't get quite as messy.

  6. okay the title sucked me in and I must admit...peanut butter and snot is adorable! :) isn't it amazing how relaxed you become by the 8th child....I am so much less uptight with my little guys than I was with my first 3!

  8. So cute! That age from about 6 months to two years is my all time favorite child age. It's so fun when they are just learning and learning! Soo, soo, cute!

  9. LOL! But I have to admit that it's way cuter when I don't have to clean it up. :D

  10. Snot and peanut butter always make me laugh, as long as it is a toddler! Your kiddos are so cute.

  11. The images ARE beautiful! The blue of the eyes with the contrasting complementary orangish of the peanut butter...lovely. The textures of the mucus and the sandwich (or here, facial) spread, pretty as a picture! :)

  12. Aaaawwww....so cute!! Isn't it funny how now that we are mom's snot, poop, pee, farts and burps seem to go with everything and we are proud of it?! Good times!!

  13. I will never again look at peanut butter the same.
This is funny. Control freak me would have snatched it away before he even had a finger in it.
I love the picture where he's trying to drink it!

  15. Wonderful pictures. :) I have a bunch with Ketchup bottles and our last one {numéro sept}. He seems to *love* Ketchup. If there is a food he doesn't like, we can put ketchup, and he'll at least try to eat it. {lol}

The sleep-deprivation has nothing to do with you being more relaxed. I think our laughter at such situations is due to "Moms of Many" trying to keep our sanity intact. Some days, it is Cry versus Laugh. Laugh is alwasy better. ;)

  17. I was just thinking . . . this would so happen in my house (if my kids liked PB - they don't) and I would so be laughing out loud and my husband would be shouting his head off!! He's not quite 'there' yet. AND I am so ovulating!!

  21. It's amazing how your tolerance level of bodily excretions lowers after having the little snot makers. Gross, but so dang cute!

  25. Although 8 of 8 is a cutie. This kind of thing would just send me over the top. I don't think I could deal. I have a hard enough time with Dorito fingers...just can't do it. God knew to only give me two. And IMHO it may have been only because he couldn't give me a half a kid, cuz I think 1 1/2 would have suited me just fine. The question is...Which half? You pick.

  26. I just have to say, for some of us it doesn't take 8 kids to get to this point. In fact, that could have been me......

  27. that is totally funny! it's cute. but i hate the clean up of peanut butter. but my mom took a AWESOME picture of me. and i was only #5 sitting on the table smeared in peanut butta, back in the day.
and somehow i still think it's cute. i just take the picture, and hope my husband is home to clean up the kid.

  36. Awww, he really is such a cutie!! Makes me wish I could give the Little Mister peanut butter. (we're waiting until two, lots and lots of food allergies in the family. *sigh*)

  37. LOL He's adorable!! Yours likes peanut butter too, eh? I think mine would got NUTS without it.

I have to say though, I'm glad you're on cleanup duty this time. I stay too tired to figure out how I would have cleaned him up if he'd been mine. :)

(And I must say again, I ADORE your photography!)

  38. He is SOO cute!! GREAT pictures and while Im not ovulating, I still want to come snuggle him!

  39. Mine would do that. Unfortunately, my #4 and I are both allergic to peanut butter, so we avoid it until the kids get older. Then non allergic siblings or daddy have to make the sandwiches. Just the smell of peanuts makes my throat start to swell shut.
