An Octamom Sighting...

I rarely appear in the pages of my family photo albums....'cuz I'm usually the one behind the camera.  But I really am working on raising up the next generation of photographers.  My oldest is getting pretty handy with a camera, to the point that she caught on film (okay, memory card) a rare Octamom sighting that does not involve me several centimeters into labor or disheveled and exhausted on Christmas Morn.

You cannot imagine the self-discipline it took for me not to edit my backside...not out of vanity or concern for my posterity...I would have only done it for you, Dear Readers, to give you a more accurate concept of how I think I look in rear view....but I am still gonna look for a photoshop application that clones Evangeline Lily's backside... 1. I think that is an award winning photo. I just gasped when I saw it. It's gorgeous, and the bare baby tushy adds such a (dare I say) natural touch. :)
    It's precious.

  7. That pictures is fabulous! Love the little naked baby having fun at the beach.
Wouldn't it be great if we could find that editing tool to show ourselves the way we think we appear. But, honestly you should not be self conscious about your rear view!

  10. Awesome photo! Even better is that your babies will have an everlasting memory of being at the shore WITH you!! 10 out of 10 to number 1 of 8! Awesome shot! I love it.

  11. What a wonderful picture! There is so much interest to the picture with the naked baby, an attractive Mom and the other baby looking over your shoulder. It's exciting that 1 of 8 is taking an interest in photography. I must say that I envy your trip to the coast, although I understand you were there because you own 2 houses (we do too, at the moment). Not a fun place to be. I sure do enjoy reading your blog. Have a great week! jan

  17. What a beautiful shot! I have one taken by a professional photographer that shows a mom and baby from behind. It was taken in a foreign country (which country escapes me at the moment). Although your photograph isn't from a third-world country, it reminds me of his work. Tell 1 of 8 a career in photography awaits!

  19. I know this sounds cheesy, but I kinda gotta little teary eyed when I saw your picture. What a beautiful picture! I love every little bit of it. Especially the little naked baby bottom! I'm really glad you didn't change anything. It is perfect just the way it is!

  22. Lovely photograph. Your girl has talent, this is for sure!

The first thing to catch my eye was your gorgeous silhouette, long hair and neat straw hat. When I noticed the babies, with the naked baby tush, I though "This picture is so perfect!" What a wonderful memory this will be for your daughter and the babies. :)

It seems that I am always behind the camera also, so there are very few pictures of TellingMom anywhere. This has been fine with me, because I never liked pictures of me {well, except the wedding photo ~ but that was so much work to look like that!}. As the kids get older, I realize that maybe I should try to be in more photographs, because memories are precious, and to have them in print can help them reminisce about those years.

  29. I personally LOVE this photo... a family, mommy moment... simple and so beautiful. love the scenery, and the fact that your teen made a memory both by seeing it firsthand and secondly by capturing it to be viewed over and over. a Special moment, i would think, that will be remembered for a long time. I have a photo of my first trying to coach my second on how to go to the bathroom standing up... outside with the mountains and country town in the background, well it made for an amazing picture and forever stamped the memory of it in my mind. they both had their behinds mostly exposed, but honestly, that is what made the picture so memorable, funny, and worth capturing on camera. Kids caught in the simple act of being kids, is refreshing, sweet, and adorable.

  32. Okay, so seriously, have you printed this in a 20x24 and framed it and hung it somewhere noticeable? I think that was Jyl's suggestion above.

    This picture fabulous.
    I have no more words.

  33. Funny. You know, I have tons of pictures of our trip to visit family in Puerto Rico and only 3 or 4 include me. I keep wanting to make a PR scrapblog, but am trying to figure out the whole Evangeline Lily backside thing too.
BTW, loving your new fall background.

  35. "A rare Octamom sighting that does not involve me several centimeters into labor or disheveled and exhausted on Christmas Morn" - you have me crackin' up! My parents and the in-laws are always begging for photos of me and The Pea, but I too am always the one behind the camera.

    P.S I LOVE your fall wallpaper/border!
